The VDC-200A adapts to a video disc player (level III/RS232) to the pushbutton selection of segments from a video disc. Designed expressly for public use in museum exhibits, retail point-of-purchase displays and information kiosks, it offers unprecedented ease of installation, along with a proven record of reliability.

Four remote pushbuttons, mounted on the exhibit or display, control the VDC-200A. Not unlike a jukebox, pressing one of the buttons instructs the video disc player to play a certain video segment. Each segment is defined simply by its beginning and ending frame numbers. No special preparation or coding of the disc is required. The VDC-200A will be programmed at no charge if the frame numbers are supplied at time of order. Otherwise, the unit may be easily programmed in the field using the buttons on the face of the controller or a personal computer. No special software or programming skills are required. Date is held in non-volatile read/write memory. No backup batteries are used, assuring that no maintenance is required.

Although the VDC-200A will accommodate four pushbuttons, it's also cost-effective for single-button installations.

A number of features add to the VDC-200A's flexibility. An "attract" mode plays a segment continuously until one of the buttons is pushed. This segment can be used to display instructions, or otherwise invite participation. In addition, the VDC-200A controls the player's sound so any segment may be played silently. Also, the pushbuttons may be set to either "lockout" while a segment is playing, or they may be "hot", so that pushing a button will interrupt a previously chosen selection with the new one. Illuminated pushbuttons indicate which segment is playing.

The VDC-200A is quick and easy to install even without technical experience.
