Designed By RBH Multimedia

Woonsocket RI

The Museum of Work and Culture, located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, is devoted to telling the story of work in the textile mills and factories of Rhode Island. In addition to artifacts, extensive use is made of interactive media. A small theater, built to look like the interior of a small church, is actually a video theater complete with surround sound. The video, produced by RBH Multimedia of Dobbs Ferry NY traces working lives of those employed in the area. Control equipment includes a Museum Tech DVD-204 to control the Pioneer DVD-V7400 player feeding the theater. Overall control, including house lights and special effects, is the task of a Museum Technology Show Controller. In addition audio from CD's is provided by Museum Technology equipment. Originally installed by AV Associates (now MCSi) in 1997, the installation has proved quite reliable and trouble free. The original LaserDisc player was replaced with DVD in 2003.
